The Goals

Equestria has many goals that she wishes to achieve, many of them are outlined in the preamble to the constitution. Some of these include:

  • Creating a union of man and horse

  • The establishment of a safe and free nation

  • The maintenance of trade and free markets

  • The defence of the homeland

  • The destruction of tyranny abroad

The Constitution

All nations in the world have a document (or collection thereof) that defines what the nation stands for and it's core principles and laws. Equestria has The Constitution of the Republic of Equestria. Ratified on 28 February 2018, this document contains all national policies including:

  • A preamble

  • The legislative process

  • The justice system

  • National defence

  • Rules for constitutional amendment

The document is public access for citizens, foreigners, and the press.

The Flag

Originally conceived in the form of a Minecraft banner, the Flag of Equestria is inspired in part by the French Tricolour. It is the same in peacetime and wartime and is flown both on land and at sea. It is not just a mess of colours, it is symbolic as well as aesthetically pleasing.

  • Red, blue, and white are the colours of a republic

  • The white band in the center represents the unifying power of the National Government

  • The red and blue represent the overall diversity of the nation

The Coat of Arms

Coats of Arms date back to the middle ages. They represented families, businesses, armies, and more. Equestria's coat of arms symbolizes the country as a whole but is also very detailed. Each part of the Arms symbolizes something.

  • The Sword represents military might

  • The Hands represent the nation's accepting virtues

  • The Horse represents the union of man and horse

  • The scroll and spear represent law and order respectively

  • Red, blue, and white are the colours of a republic

The National Anthem

The national search for a dedicated anthem that is composed domestically continues. In the meantime, "Rule Equestria" (generously recorded by the British Army Royal Corps of Engineers) is the official anthem for use in public ceremonies.

Lyrics

When our land fi-i-irst at hea'ens command,

Aro-o-ose from out the a-azure main,

Arose, arose, aro-o-ose from the azure main,

This was the charter, the charter of the land,

And guardian a-angels sang the strain:

Rule Equestria!

Equestria rule the waves!

Man nor horse ever ever ever shall be slave!

(Repeat chorus x2)
