The Government of Equestria is a bureaucracy. There are many officials in charge of many things, and there are many departments. If it all seems a little overwhelming, don't worry! This page will help you find the service that you are looking for from our many departments and offices.

THE HOME OFFICE

Department of Commerce and Labour

  • Administers and regulates all domestic trade and labour law

  • Grants permits and licences to businesses

  • Certifies and defends trade and labour unions

  • Provides national unemployment insurance

  • Guarantees free trade and markets 

Department of Election and Referendum

  • Administers and counts national polls

  • Conducts investiture for public office

  • Ensures fairness in voting

  • Displays and archives results

  • Officially announces results

Department of Immigration and Citizenship

  • Review applications for citizenship

  • Regulate immigration, refugees, and tourism

  • Issue passports and temporary citizenship ID cards

Department of Investigation and Security

  • Supervise the justice system

  • Enforce law nationally

  • Administer correctional facilities

  • Enforce counter-terrorism and riot control

  • Maintain domestic security

Department of Taxation and Revenue

  • Enforce taxation regulation

  • Transfer taxation to treasury

  • Grant taxation exemption

THE FOREIGN OFFICE

Department of Embassy

  • Administer all Equestrian embassies

  • Grant embassies to other nations

  • Facilitate day-to-day international communication

Department of International Trade

  • Regulate and enforce tariffs and duties

  • Control and secure international borders

  • Regulate use of Equestrian economic waters

  • License and certify importation and exportation

Department of Macronational Affairs

  • Correspond with large nations

  • Manage Equestrian participation in international events

  • Host and preside over international meetings

Department of Micronational Affairs

  • Correspond with micronations

  • Manage Equestrian participation in international events

  • Host and preside over international meetings

Department of War and National Defence

This department is split into three offices.

  • Land Office

    • Facilitate recruitment and enlistment​

    • Administer training and instruction

    • Defend Equestria's territory

    • Protect national interests abroad

    • Maintain peace in the world

  • Naval Office - Same as Land Office, including​​

    • Maintain and deploy navy fleet

    • Defend Equestria's waters

  • Gaming Office

    • It is unclear what this office does

OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

The Cabinet

  • Team of experts to advise the president

  • Serve as directors of various departments

  • Introduce new bills to Congress

  • Appointed by the President

Equestrian Secret Service

  • Personally protect government officials

  • Conduct high-level investigation

  • Deter and stop counterfeit operations

President of the Republic of Equestria

  • Serve as a leader of the nation

  • Meet with other world leaders

  • Approve or veto bills passed in Congress

  • Issue executive orders

  • Act as a figurehead for the nation

IMPARTIALITIES

Office of the Chief Justice

  • Appoint judges

  • Preside over the Supreme Court

  • Make decisions based on morals and ethics

  • Make rulings for ambiguous laws

  • Consider appeals to the Supreme Court

Chancellery of the Treasury

  • Administer the finance inside the federal government

  • Make payments to government departments

  • Receive payments from Dept. of Taxation and Revenue

  • Manage Central Bank of Equestria

Department of the National Archives

  • Preserve historical documents and artifacts

  • Archive sociopolitical information

  • Present said information to the public
